Make sure you are a believer who has been baptized and is a sincere disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Confirm that you are a member of Central Church who is actively participating in the life of the church. Participation can include shepherd groups, equip classes, ministry volunteering, etc.

Affirm that you have the time to complete the prerequisite reading by July 1, 2024. The required reading is Christ from Beginning to End: How the Full Story of Scripture Reveals the Full Glory of Christ by Trent Hunter and Stephen Wellum. You must purchase this book and prepare to express your understanding of the reading during a scheduled group interview.

Count the cost to make sure you can sacrifice 6-10 hours a week to complete the required reading, assignments, and classroom meetings. Also, make sure you have the time to meet on Monday nights during the fall and spring semesters from 5:30-8:00 PM (dinner and childcare are provided). There is also an alternative 9-month CBI class offered on Thursday mornings from 6:15-7:15 AM (light breakfast and coffee are provided).

Pray about your motives. Why do you want to serve in church leadership? Examine your heart and confirm that you are pursuing God’s glory and not your own.
